The Milk-Bone Story: Back in the early 1900s, there was a little bakery on the Lower East Side of New York City. Although it was known as a biscuit company by trade, the bakers there began to develop a snack that catered to the tastes of all dogs, both large and small. From the start, the recipe for their bone-shaped treat was made with only the most nutritious ingredients for a dog: meat products, minerals and milk. Eventually, as derived from the recipe, the name Milk-Bone naturally came into being and has remained since. Now, after 100 years, the Milk-Bone Brand continues to bring the joy of snack time to dogs everywhere. The hard crunchy texture of Milk-Bone Original biscuits can help clean teeth and freshen breath. As your dog chews, Milk-Bone Original biscuits help remove residual food particles from your dogs teeth, thereby helping to freshen breath. Calorie and Fat Content per Biscuit: 20 calories and 0.5 g fat per biscuit.

Free-Teaching-Resources.co.uk was the brainchild of Yorkshire entrepreneur Rebecca Jordan. Jordan had the idea for the site after being commissioned by a government agency to create useful lesson plans for schools. She realised that there were lots of fantastic free resources out there, but in many cases teachers didnt know how or where to find them. As well as being hugely popular with teachers, the website has attracted attention from top charities, museums and blue chip companies who have contributed.

The website lists and reviews free teaching resources and covers all UK subject areas and key stages. The types of resources range from lesson plans, posters and worksheets, to online videos and interactive games. The site boasts an impressive list of contributors including the AA Driving School, NHS Careers, SkillsActive, PETA, NatWest, Battersea Dogs Home, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, The Childrens Society and many many more.

Four years on the website has been visited by millions of teachers. The rebuild has allowed organisations to post video directly onto the preview page so teachers can quickly and easily see what there is on offer. It also allows teachers to share tips with their colleagues on how they used the materials in the classroom.

We are so delighted that the site had been such a huge success with both teachers and companies who want to promote their resources said Jordan . We knew we were on to something special when Google listed their teaching resources on our site.

Free-Teaching-Resources.co.uk has new resources and news items added weekly so teachers are guaranteed a fresh bank of educational material to choose from. There is also a teachers newsletter service for schools who want to be the first to know about any new resources.

Notes For Editors:

Rebecca Jordan is co-founder and director of PDC Education Ltd. She has won national Entrepreneur of the Year awards, written business columns for local and national press, presented a television series on women in business, is a published author of business books, and has sat on the board of the Leeds Metropolitan University Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Des Moines, IA (PRWEB) May 10, 2012

Shannon Duffy moved to Denver in 2008. As with many Denver implants, he quickly developed a love for the mountains and the Denver way of life. At the same time, he felt something critical was missing. As a born and raised Iowan, I found it impossible to find high quality bacon in the mountains, Shannon admitted. He continued, Shortly after moving here, I ordered bacon at an upscale Denver restaurant. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the quality and taste. I felt like Patrick Swayzes character in Dirty Dancing and someone had just put Baby in the corner.

A year later, Shannon found himself back in Iowa visiting his brother Erik. One morning the two dropped into a rural cafe for a warm breakfast. Shannon ordered a side of bacon. When the bacon arrived, he bit into one of the crispy strips. His emotions overwhelmed him. As Shannon fought back the tears, he shared his bacon struggles with his brother. Entrepreneurs at heart, the Duffy brothers soon realized there was an opportunity. They would create the best bacon in the world and bring it to the Rockies.

Within months, the Duffy brothers were able to find farmers in Iowa producing the finest Berkshire hogs. The heritage hogs were naturally raised and fed a 100% vegetarian diet. This produced an exceptional belly with an ideal meat-to-fat ratio for bacon. The brothers then developed a signature maple and spice rub, applied it to the bellies, dry cured them and then smoked them with cherry wood to perfection. In 2010, this delicious bacon became the launching pad for a successful food company, Tender Belly. Tender Belly Bacon is currently available in a variety of upscale restaurants and grocery stores throughout Colorado and Arizona.

The Duffy brothers arent the only native Iowans bringing bacon to Colorado. Brooks Reynolds of Des Moines, IA is doing his part. Reynolds is president and chairman of the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival, the worlds premier bacon festival. Held in Des Moines, Iowa, the festival offers a rich bacon educational lecture series and more bacon than a person could ever dream.

For the second year straight, Reynolds is working with Keystone Neighborhood Company to bring the festivals tour to Colorado. Reynolds explains the Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour as being much like the Crusaders introducing a large variety of spices from Asia to Western Europe during the Dark Ages. The Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour travels to places like Colorado and Iceland to transform the lives of bacon lovers by introducing a variety of bacon and bacon-inspired dishes from all over. Reynolds continues, Of course, we like to do all this while tossing back a few cold beers and bacon bloodies.

On June 23rd and 24th, the Duffy Brothers will join Reynolds in celebrating bacon at the Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour at River Run in Keystone, Colorado. The two-day event will feature a ton of Iowa bacon (2,000 lbs.) along with plenty of bacon from around the nation, bacon-inspired dishes from local and traveling restaurants, bacon bloody marys courtesy of Hawkeye Bacon Vodka and Pearl Vodka, live music, and samples of Beggin Strips
