Raised Dog Bowls Are A Necessity For Your Dogs’ Health And Long Life

by Alice Washerstein on 06/03/2010

A raised dog bowl is not just a convenience when it comes to your large breed dog. It should be a priority when it comes to giving your dog food and water. You may think that the only important thing is a large dog bowl, but think again if you want your dog to live a healthier life.

Big dogs usually end up with arthritis as they age, you can help deter this painful disease just by getting a dog feeding station that is raised to a height that is comfortable for your dog. Tall dogs have to bend at the neck and lower their heads to eat from a bowl that is on the floor. This can create digestive difficulties and harm to your dogs’ joints and muscles.

If you have an older large breed dog, chances are that they have arthritis. Just imagine having to stand and bend down to eat your food out of a large dog bowl on the floor with arthritis. This would be painful for you and it is also painful for your dog. A raised dog bowl put into a dog feeding station is essential to your dogs health and happiness.

Your dog is part of your family. Don’t see them struggle in their senior years. A raised dog feeder will alleviate their pain.

For instance you can buy a raised dog bowl feeder in stainless steel, wood, plastic or wrought iron. They will even hold a large dog bowl that holds up to 3 quarts. And I’m sure you can find bigger.

Any dog will be happy to have one of these. they come in different heights, even a Great Dane can make use of one of these.

If you find that having your dog’s food and water bowls too close together does not work for you or your dog, you can purchase two raised dog bowl feeders and spread them apart.

You can buy a raised dog bowl feeder that comes with two bowls. Or if you like to keep your dogs food a little farther away from their water, you can buy two raised dog feeder stands in matching material and style.

We all love our pets as part of our family and we need to take good care of them. If purchasing a raised dog bowl will help minimize your dogs’ health problems then isn’t that a good investment.

Remember just because you have a large breed dog it doesn’t mean that a large dog bowl alone is the answer for their food. A raised dog bowl really is essential for your dogs health.

Excellent article! We have a Great Dane and looked all over for an elevated feeder that was the correct height for our dog. We finally found a 28 inch tall feeder and we are so happy with it. The site sells feeders at heights for every breed, and even shows you how to measure your dog for the correct feeder height. We just love the modern look of these feeders, and wanted to share the link.
